
Chelsea Barabas
Research Scientist at MIT
Chelsea Barabas is a research scientist at MIT, where she currently researches the social consequences of artificial intelligence and automated decision making systems, with a particular focus on AI applications in the labor market and the US criminal justice system. Prior to this work, Chelsea was the Head of Social Innovation for the Digital Currency Initiative at MIT, where much of her work focused on the development of technology that enables stronger consumer protections over data and better strategies for financial inclusion. She currently resides in Nairobi.
